Senior Watch by Contact Pals

The wristwatch that
watches over them

Every year, Canadian seniors lose over $1 billion to fraud. Senior Watch is a wristwatch service that makes financial fraud harder to pull off — and easier to survive.

The wristband shows it. The service backs it up.

Six layers of protection

Senior Watch wraps your loved one in a set of interlocking defences. Each one is on their terms — they turn it on, they can turn it off.

❄
Financial freeze
The senior declares their finances frozen. Banks and family are notified. A fraudster asking to "move funds for safety" hits a wall.
✅
Enrollment declaration
A signed record that the senior chose this service freely. Settles any "someone signed them up without telling them" question before it starts.
📄
Possession declaration
The senior states what they own — and what they don't. Makes it impossible to claim they agreed to give away something they declared they don't have.
⌛
Physical display
The wristband face shows SENIOR WATCH — PROTECTED. A caller who can see the watch knows this person is watched over.
🔔
Referral
The senior reports a suspicious caller's number. It is shared with the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre in real time. That number becomes part of the national warning system.
📞
Phone number trap
Unknown callers are pre-screened. A voice asks who they are and why they're calling before the senior's phone ever rings. Fraudsters hang up. Real callers get through.
The YIM Minute

A frightening letter. A tight chest. One button press. The wristband does the rest.

💚
One press. One minute. Back to yourself.
Built into every Senior Watch wristband

The watch pulses slowly on the wrist — long buzz in, soft buzz out — pacing the breath to six cycles per minute. The display shows one word at a time. After one minute it asks: "Better?" One press for yes. Nothing is sent to anyone. This is just for them.

Press and hold for help. The assistance ladder starts: help lines on screen, then a gentle question, then — if needed — a message to family.

How it works

Two options. Zero disruption to their daily life.

A

Apple Watch app (BYOD)

If your loved one already has an Apple Watch, download the Senior Watch app. Six protection modes, the YIM Minute, reminder buzzes in their own words. No new hardware. No new charging routine. Available on the App Store.

B

Senior Watch wristband

A dedicated wristband with a 7–14 day battery. No daily charging, no app to remember, no complicated setup. Designed for care homes, isolated seniors, and families who want a device they completely control. The face says SENIOR WATCH — PROTECTED.

1

The senior says yes

Only they can enroll themselves. The enrollment declaration is their record, in their words, that this was their choice. Family can gift the service; only the senior activates it.

2

Protection turns on

Phone screening starts. The financial freeze is on record. Unknown callers go through the screening door. The wristband face lights up green.

3

Family stays informed (only what the senior shares)

The senior controls what family can see. Alerts go out only when they ask for help or when something is wrong. No surveillance. No check-ins.

Built with Canadian institutions

Senior Watch is being developed in partnership with Canada's anti-fraud infrastructure.
